Mat Pilates

No machine, just a mat: we work with your own bodyweight and small props. The same Pilates principles — only here every bit of resistance is your own body.

The basics

How is it different from the Reformer?

In mat classes there is no machine: on the mat your own bodyweight provides the resistance, which we add to with bands, balls and hand weights. The movement is freer, and the core has to work continuously for stability — there is no machine holding you.

The Reformer guides and assists you with its springs; a mat class leaves everything to you. That is why you feel it elsewhere the next day: the deep abdominals, the glutes and the small stabilising muscles of the back get the most. The two class types do not replace each other — they reinforce each other.

Who it is for

When your own body is the only equipment.

01

If you want to complement the Reformer

Many of our guests add one mat class a week to their Reformer sessions. The same approach, different muscles — and working without the machine confirms your technique.

02

If you want a strong core

Power Sculpt works with continuous movement and minimal breaks. There is nowhere to hide: the core stays active throughout.

03

If posture and grace are the goal

Total Barre brings the delicacy of ballet to the precision of Pilates. Small, repeated movements that set the muscles burning — and straighten your posture.

Our classes

On the mat and at the barre.

Both classes are 50 minutes. The studio provides the props; all you need is sportswear and pilates socks.
